Sad news

Minardi Sporting Director John Walton is in a critical condition at a London hospital after a heart attack.

He also worked for Jordan and Arrows in the past.

Best wishes for a recovery.

Thansk for letting us know. Fingers crossed that he can improve over the course of the weekend. This really is the last thing Minardi or Formula 1 needs.

Will Louise be at Silverstone then? If so, will it produce a(nother) negative influence on her performance?

*****

Anyway, not the essential thing at present.

Naturally, I, along with everyone else, hopes he manages to recover to maximum that is possible.

It means, I believe, that his condition is a serious one, on high observation etc (it was a heart attack and all, no small thing); BUT, crucially, he is in the state one would expect following a heart attack and, theoretically, he should recover if things continue to go as expected.

I reckon that is the general idea of critical yet stable.

This in from F1-live.

"Minardi did not run in this session, presumably as a mark of respect for their Sporting Director John Walton who sadly passed away last night. "

Very sad news.

And of course to Team Minardi.
