TBA race...
according to www.champcarworldseries.com
there will be a TBA race after Mexico City. Is that going to follow through? Or are they going to cancel? I noticed that they put Las Vegas in the first TBA race, and i hear they're taking Korea out? |

There was talk of teaming OWRS with Trans Am's date in Puerto Rico. Now it's come out that Jorge Diaz, the Puerto Rican promoter who drives one of the 11 cars that participated in the last Trans Am race before Three Rivers, is all POed about something and some kind of deal to do an OWRS/Trans Am doubleheader in Puerto Rico is off.

Rumors.... AR1: UPDATE "Sources here at Road America tell us that two new races look pretty definite for 2004, ones we have previously told you about - San Jose, California and Buenos Aires, Argentina, both better than 90% likely to happen. A number of other overseas venues are in play as well, but whether they happen in 2005 or 2006 remains to be seen..."
Buenos Aires??? Sounds like Fittipaldi is still working hard to get a race in South America.. |

Would these tracks be ovals?
More ovals are needed, 2 isn't enough! |

IndyCar is going for a mix of ovals and road-racing.
Champ Car needs to go all road/street as a point of difference. |

Mark C. is ballyhooing that street race in San Jose, which means that Laguna Seca and/or OWRS are giving up on each other. That's a shame. I don't think at all that's a good "trade." As for Buenos Aires, someone tell me exactly why that's good....IF it happens.

I respect the fact that oval racing created Champercar or indycars which everway you want to look at it, but seriously they lost one oval race that did define open wheel racing in the US as far as ovals are concerned. Now OWRS should focus more on road and street which is now what the series is based on. I really believe ovals are to dangerous and are not much of a challage as they used to be.For example what was the point of going to the Eurospeedway when there was the old Nurburgring, but thats dangerous yes but a far greater challage. Sorry to be a bit of topic but as far as the TBA is concerned I hope to see them back at ST Petersburg hopefully with a profit to be made. |

I'm dreaming - but if it miraculously ends up being Fontana, I'll cry tears of joy.

I'd erhem, DIE (pardon the expression) to see CART back at Fontana.
But I'm going to see Grand Am there on Oct 31. And don't you think I didn't EXPIRE when I realised what date THAT was.... |

Too many bad memories for me....it's not the special place for me that so many others seem to think it is...actually I'm downright scared of the place...
