Poor gear selection

Has anyone experienced gear change problems with motor bike gearboxes?
A friend has found since increasing B.H.P. on a Radical S.R.3 that the linkage seems to stick & not return to the central position, causing the next gear to be missed (not good in a race). We have tried adding external return springs to the linkage without effect.

Hope someone can help.

imull has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
is the engine canting over slightly more that might be causing the linkage to go out of alignment?

Try using just the origional bike type gear selector to see if the problem is within the engine or just in the linkage. By the way, do it with the engine running as some bike gearboxes are designed not to shift with a dead engine.

Thanks for the replies. Gearbox stripped & lots of bits in the bottom.
Should be ok after rebuild
