For some strange reason Stephen has implied that EuroBoss is the main event at Brands when we all know it is the final round of the Southern FF1600 Championship that is most significant

Some great FF races yesterday (Sunday). Thanks for the entertainment folks It's a shame one of the ERA's in the BARC singel seaters decided to drop oil virtually the whole way round the Indy Circuit before stopping at Post 1. It took the edge off the race, not helped by the driver of the F3 who spun his car off the startline into the pit wall. Red face me thinks

Reddest face must go to the Swinging Sixties driver who managed to roll his Lotus 7 between posts 7 and 8 whilst on the end of a tow-rope after practice. Fortunately he sustained only minor injuries.

It looks like you had fun at Brands.
Just a note to remind you all that it is always worth getting the driver to put his helmet on when he is being towed back. As stated above, strange things do happen when you are on the end of a towing rope!!! |

I don't think this driver will be towed without a helmet in future Fay!

I think it was more that he didn't have his belts done up either!! Enjoyed the racing on Saturday more than Sunday despite the rain.

Quite a time ago a clubmans' car rolled whilst being towed at Oulton...wrecked the car...and now it seems it has happened again.
I think the fault is entirely with the tow truck personnel. I was towed in last Saturday, a cv joint had gone. A marshal asked them to carry the car to save any further damage they refused and gave me no time to fasten my helmet. A while ago I put a rod through the block during testing at Oulton, got off the circuit straight away but had to literally beg them to carry the car to save spreading oil everywhere. In my experience they treat the drivers like imbaciles. This does not happen elsewhere, when towing a single seater the rope is looped around the roll hoop then around itself a few times, the end is then given to the driver who then has final say in whether he wants to turn over or not. |
