Here are the Results:
No one picked Helio for the Pole Tim N. was closest to the Pole Speed For the Top Three Rows, in the wake of the Manning accident, I was generous, and I gave everyone credit for drivers that they either picks in the "Actual Top Six" with Manning among that group, or for the "Starting Top Six" as the grid actually went to the line at the start of the race.... No one had Manning in the top 3 rows, but they would have gooten credit...I gave 2 points for anyone who had Fernandez in 4th or 5th...2 points for anyone who had Meira in 5th or 6th, and anyone who had Rice in the top 3 rows... Flavinha, Down F0rce, Tim N. and GP Racer had 4 points each in this section.. Flavinha also had Takagi as the slowest qualifier... The only Engine Maker top qualifier that anyone selected was Castronveves...and Tim N., GP Racer and Marcus selected him... Quals Results: 1. Tim N. -- 8 pts. 2. Flavinha -- 7 pts. 3. GP Racer -- 6 pts. 4. Down F0rce -- 4 pts. (tie) Marcus -- 4 pts. (tie) stmookeyj033 -- 4 pts. Race Results: No one Picked Fernandez to win... Flavinha had BY FAR the best of the Top Five picks...He selected Kanaan, Wheldon and Hornish in their correct spots, and have Rice and Fernandez in his top five...8 pts in that section....GREAT PICKS! Marcus and Tim N. had 4 pts. eaqch in that section...Tim Picked Wheldon in the correct spot... Tim N., Flavinha, Down F0rce and stmookeyj033 all had Meira as the fastest lap, and Tim N. also was closest to the "Fast Lap Speed" (which was 216.979) to get 4 pts from that section... I would have credited Manning or Meira as the 1st car out....no one picked those drivers... Castroneves led at the 50, 100 and 150 marks....Only Marcus had Helio, and he picked him at the 150 mark for two points. Best Mover - Kanaan (21st - 2nd)...no one had him Fall from Grace -- Meira (5th -21st) no on had him... and Tim N. was closest to the "Average Speed," which was 178.826. TOTAL RESULTS: 1. Tim N. -- 18 pts. 2. Flavinha -- 17 pts. 3. Marcus -- 10 pts. 4. Down F0rce -- 9 pts. (tie)GP Racer -- 9 pts. 6. stmookeyj033 -- 8 pts. I'll post the season totals in a minute.... Well boys, if the standings are correct, than I'm thinking Tim has clinched this thing.
I don't think we can catch him now. Geez, not only has Kannan clinched the championship this weekend, but our very own Tim Northcutt has to! Well done Tim! but I'll be double checking those scores, if you don't mind! Second is still very much up for grabs, and all the prize money that goes with that! Hey, where's the champagne!? |

The difference in our point totals this week came in two areas:
1. I was closest to the pole speed, the fastest lap speed and the average speed for the race...that's six points I picked up that could not be "shared" the way "Top Three Rows" or "Top Five" points can be, and 2. In those two "Shared" categories, I was lucky enough to pick a couple of drivers in the actual spots where they qualified or finished....which gave me added points as well... Regardless of the outcome, I've had great fun doing this with everyone, and I look forward not only to the last race, but running this "Pick Em's" contest next season as well... Thanks for being so dilligent and for participating every race... |

Just kidding, this was great fun, and it really added some excitement to the races. I felt like we had something at stake in every race. Nice job Tim! I hope we're all around next year to do it again! |
