Worrying news for F1?
http://www.crash.net/uk/en/poll_view.asp?poll_id=12
As this poll shows, people don't regard F1 as being good value for money. Is this another indication that rules must be changed to increase overtaking, or that the race weekends need to have more support races and qualifying sessions? Or does it not really matter how many peopel are at the tracks considering the sport's commercial reach? |

People at the track don't really matter to Bernie, what he cares about is the global tv figures. The number of people that are at any given race is tiny compared with the amount that watch the same race on tv. Support races and the like are of no interest to Bernie, the 'show' however must be of some concern to him - if races are dull people switch off the tv. If people switch off the tv often enough revenue will drop and Bernie gets less $$$$$.

I think its not as worrying as pictured.
Firstly, Formula One in recent years have hardly been "value for money" as an entertainment, not just purely because of overtaking or Ferrari domination. It's just that F1 tickets are pricey, and when you are basically at a track buying a seat to watch cars past you 50 odd times, its never good value when there are other alternatives. F1 has been growing out of reach to the mass public. F1 should really make the weekend one worthy trip as an outing for the people to go. Not only the race itself should improve, but overall package have to improve too. |

I think that spectators at the circuit actually do contribute to the overall atmosphere. Compare Monza/Silverstone to Sepang.. to see people flooding onto Monza track at the end of the race, celebrating and all at monza is impressive. Sepang looks stale in comparison.
Sometimes, F1 looks like a private playground in a world of their own. Compare this to soccer, where the cheers and chants echo within the stadium. |

Yak are found in 13 of the provinces of Mongolia and 9 of these have 90 percent of all the yak. There are a few small herds in districts of the central and southern Gobi province. Seventy percent of the yak herds are concentrated in the Hangai and Hovsgol mountains, 29 percent in the Mongolian Altai and only about 1 percent in the Gobi Altai and Hentii mountains. The yak population works out at just under one yak for every three of the human population in Mongolia.

Blimey. hrug:
I had a feeling I was talking complete almost immediately after hitting submit. ;P Thankyou Armco for your superb insight into the geographical distribution of the Mongolian yak population. D'you think Mongolian yak would make natural tifosi? |

This result is not even remotely surprising.
f1 has been a steaming pile of erm,yak droppings for quite awhile now Some of the teams and drivers do their best to be the worlds best but it's impossible to do alot in the face of idiotic rules and blatant corruption |
