Today's Toronto Sun announces the following:
"Meet CART racing Superstar and Toronto's own PAUL TRACY! Public Autograph Session Tuesday, January 9, 2001, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at First Canadian Place Waterfall Stage (Concourse Level)!" "Molson Indy July 13, 14, 15" This is a quarter-page ad with a picture of Paul (whose hair appears to have returned to normal), his car and a Paul Tracy T-Shirt I wouldn't mind having - with Our Paul superimposed on the Canadian Maple Leaf (and with the KOOL cigarette logo underneath which will enrage my boss). Looks to me as if CART is finally getting the word that we want to see the guys out there in public when it's not racing season! This is an excellent venue as it's in a very high-traffic area in the Financial District, near where the Molson Indyfest is held during Race Week. Paul should get plenty of attention. |

I just hope that he doesnt have an accident and wind up in the waterfall....

I just wish they'd come to Ottawa. The only driver that I can remember having an autograph session here was Mika Hakkinen at the Hugo Boss store in the Rideau Centre. That was before he won 2 world Championships.

Our Paul appeared on Breakfast Television this morning, "Off the Record" on TSN this afternoon, and two press conferences and a radio show in between. His hair is a weird shade of mahogany brown, which he candidly admits is merely an attempt to cover up the green, which would not come out! He has a double chin, but looks happy and was quite articulate and interesting.
I hope other Champ Car pilots are out there walking the walk; it will do the sport a world of good. |
