Homestead Tests & Timing On-Line

Briscoe & Enge are both in the Top Five...

Castroneves has been consistently there as well...

Franchitti and Hertal also in the hunt....

Interesting Note:

There are 21 cars participating....

Kosuke Matsuura is in the #55...everyone else is as we know them...

Anybody know want is the story behind Matsuura being there???

Manning took a run in two different cars for Ganassi...

Of course that is Matsuura's ###

It has been a long winter

AJ Foyt IV will be in the oval portion of the test apparantly.

Briscoe fastest.

Four tenths of a second up on Kanaan. Turned the quick lap on his last run of the day.

You can get all of the info on the main Indycar site.

Great to see Ryan doing so well

as a side note Ryan will be the very first Australian to compete in the Indy racing league and when he gets to Indy he will be the first Aussie to drive at Indy since Geoff Brabham , awesome stuff

Hertal Unitentional, but still funny. Good to see all the AGR cars in the top 7.I think this year they'll probably be even better, and more determined then last year to stay on top.

Another thing is,I read a quote from Dan,where he was talking about Tony Cotman leaving or not there for the test, and that his engineer Eddie Jones was stepping in as the Crew Cheif on a interim basis.Anyone know why Tony has left,or if he is coming back?

Brad Murphey who raced in 1996 may have been Australian.

And possibly John de Vries in 2002.

I think that is because they were (erroneously, as you point out) counting de Vries.

Of course, Scott Dixon was born in Australia........

Is Geoff the only Australian to be on pole? And is Vern Schuppan's 3rd place still the highest placed Australian.

Damnit why didn't David Brabham give the '500 a shot, he's the odd one out!

And back on topic, can anyone compare the times to the Atlantic cars around homestead? Or did they use the Roval?

Just noticed this, said by Wheldon:

Quote:
"The cars are fun to drive, and the brakes are phenomenal. I drove a sportscar about a week ago and the brakes are about a million times better than that!"
Just thought it was an interesting tid-bit.

Here's an interesting interview with Bryan Herta and Ryan Briscoe after the first day of testing.

Great little interview there. Especially because Bryan has been there, done that and bought the t-shirt.

A quick note from the Indycar.com website regarding the IPS teams testing today:

Quote:
Six drivers are expected to test on the 1.5-mile oval in Menards Infiniti Pro Series cars on Jan. 21. Owner-driver Marty Roth will be on the track with Travis Gregg, Chris Festa and Jaime Camara in Sam Schmidt Motorsports cars, James Chesson in a Genoa Racing car and Mishael Abbott in a Hemelgarn 91 Johnson Motorsports car. She has competed in the Star Mazda and Formula Mazda series the past few years.
