Grand Prix - The Movie - 18th February
Just a heads up for those who can get TCM (Turner Classic Movies) that Grand Prix is being shown at 15.45 this Friday (18th February). I hope to finally replace my 20 year old VHS copy with a DVD recording!

I found my VHS recording of Grand Prix yesterday while doing a bit of a tidy up.
Shame I don't have a working VCR anymore

Its quite funny, because I went to transfer my VHS copy to DVD the other day - only to find I'd set it for 2 hours and the video runs for about 2 hours and 5 minutes.........

There's been a lot of talk about it, hasn't there. I believe Mrs. Frankenheimer still has the rights to it.
Interestingly, on another tack, having just lovingly created a DVD of the "Team McLaren" series from 1993, I see some guy on EBay has done the same - he's selling them for £20 a throw though........

My 1985 VHS copy was taped from the Beeb - so no ads!
Of course, the beauty of DVD is that you can strip the ads out later........ |

On that link it says its on satturday at 12.30am? Think I will go check my sky planner, what better way to end a weeks work, home from work and into the pub for a lunchtime pint then settle down for a nice bit of real race nostalgia. If its saturday then I'm at football. However they do seem to have it on every six months or so.

Hmmm. It does say Saturday, doesn't it - yet the original schedule I printed definitely said Friday afternoon. But is that because you're looking at the American version of TCM?
