Very interesting, the funding for the event is good news but the idea of bringing the WRC to Ireland is superb! I realise that at this stage it's very much more an idea than a certainty but it would be great if the WRC did go to Ireland.

Great news
I wonder if the idea might rub off on the government over here or if the National Lottery would consider making a donation towards the funding of British rallying/rallycross?

Ah it's brill news. It's a pity that the great stages around the south won't come into the equation but we were never going to be able to fit them all in with the way WRC rallies are run now. It's also a very bold move that it's gonna be a brand new event so fair play to them and the best of luck with it. As for surface, well Irish tar is renowned all over the world as something different to anything else so, although our forestry events are going great guns and improving all the time, imo i think we have to go for tar! Imagine Loeb and Solberg on Knockalla!

Good old Ireland, where the distance signs are in miles, except when they are in kilometers, and the speed limits are now in kilometers, except when they are in miles.
