this may be a bit of a stupid question but why is there an St patricks day smilie but no St Davids, St Andrews or St Georges day smilies?

The site has Irish owners-and you know how they do on that day.

Which of these days are as widely celebrated worldwide?

Thank you for that MT. As it happens, you're partially correct. Grant is Scottish. I am Irish.

There are St. Patrick's day smilies there because it's a holiday I celebrate and since I look after the smilies, I put them up there.

We have had no requests for the days that Beau mentions. No-one has shown any interest in them. We don't have any 4th of July smilies either. Or Father's Day smilies. Or Secretary's Day. Or Thanksgiving. Or any other of the various high days and holidays that appear during the year throughout the world. I'm sure you understand that we can't be expected to know about every single holiday in the world and provide smilies for them.

If there is a day of celebration that someone would like me to put in smilies for, I will certainly consider it. However it will be up to that person to find the appropriate smilies for it should they exist. If I get a reasonable request and links to smilies that I can use for it are provided, I don't think there would be any problem putting them in place.

Hope that clarifies.
