Yes, I have been alerted...All I wanted to do was sit quietly for a moment because people are forever trying to ask you questions and I needed a mind break!

Wow! Really impressive pics Andrew! I have never shot bikes before and am wondering if the technique use is the same as shooting cars? For example, what sort of aperture and shutter speed are generally used for bikes?

Thanks Terry!

Well, it really depends, I personally like to shoot images such as these on aperture priority but I'm always aware of the shutter speed as an aperture of say 5.6 is is going to give you quite a high shutter speed based on conditions. But in general I think the same "techniques" apply, although I just know what works and what doesn't and tend not to think about it too much.

So IMV, (and I don't believe in rules personally) it's pretty much dependent on conditions and what effect your trying to achieve with the subject matter at hand. For these shots I was roughly 20 feet from the rider with a 300f2.8, shooting in "L" mode as I very rarely use the "uzi" mode with the 1DMK2.

..and I just updated my site with a few images from the weekend.

Your pics are simply awesome! Must try to have a play around this weekend at the superbikes meet. Thanks for sharing your views though and keep up the excellent work!
