There is actually more than 6 cars on track. Well it's about time. This image is showing 14 cars on track.

At least 14 but there may be more.

I heard that I is only going to be avalible for PS3. Why?
I think they will end up releasing it on PS2.

I wasn't going to bother about geting GT5 if it came out on PS2 but if it does come out on PS2 I may consider getting it. There are about 14-20 cars on track. All they need now is damage and I will get it. They also have F1 cars in GT5 but they are probable just made up cars like the Polyphony cars in GT3

I think your chances of seeing that on the PS2, which were nil before, are absolutely zero now. There is no way the PS2 can handle that many cars on track at once.

The phrase the king is dead, long live the king comes to mind.

More cars on track - Excellent. Now lets hope they also add more cars of the right kind to the game, particularly historics.

Nah, won't be on PS2 mabs I'm afraid. If it is, it'll be back to 6 cars!

PS3 only. This is very early stuff as well, it'll look ten times better than this when it is released. Remember the early GT3 screenshots? They looked crap compared to the final game. The same will apply here. Can't wait!

Couldn't agree more, especially the Mk1 Escort. I'd love to see some 50's and 60's F1 cars too, and motors from the mille miglia (sp?)

Not sure about F1s Hepatic, since this is/should be primarily a Gran Turismo game. Still if it doesn't prevent all those old Astons, BMWs and Fords from being added to the game, I shan't complain if it has a few old F1 cars as well. I did start a thread for the cars that GT4 should have had which had some interesting choices by posters - I think it's dropped off the bottom of the page now though!

Well, the preview vid has about 20 F1 cars heading up the hill at Monaco, looked and sounded pretty impressive...

For me some things well have to change.,like having more cars from the other companies instead of being predominately Japenese, have damage that is realistic and also have more tracks instead os the same old tracks but updated to new specs and not have the tracks reversed and count as a new track.Plus race the concepts, some of the Audis should kick butt and same with the Caddy Cien and some others.Bottom line just dont make this into an updated version of GT4.

fwiw - ive read that the video posted is just a gt4 running on the ps3 hardware. if gt is anything like f1c on the pc, all they had to do was update tracks .aiw file and player files. plus any tweaking to get it playing on the ps3.

Hopefully they will get more international tracks. I believe that GT4 would have been excellent if they added Spa and probaly Bathurst would of topped off the game for me. but yes more historics and bring some Australian Muscle into the game with the Phase 3 GTHO and some Toranas. Now that would be sweet

I would think damage and more varied weather effect are a given for GT5.

That is the single biggest thing they need to address as far as I'm concerned, the AI is pitiful at the moment.

Other things:

Lose the dirt events, the handling has never been right - there are better games out there for dirt fans (myself included).

Bigger Grids, 6 cars is not enough. 20+ please.

Less 'special edition' Japanese cars.

Bring back the race modification option.

Damage, if you hit something it should have a some effect (be that scratched paint or tearing a wheel off).

yep it is Gran Turismo, GT....the rally events have no place in the series anymore. althought great historical rally cars.
more vintage GT's and clear cut events. So many you can simply storm in with the Minolta toyota cv88 and cush everything. or the 787b. touring car races and prototype races and vintage... the 'extreme events' in GT4 and even the endurance events aren't balanced. but this may be an AI issue.
funny that the AI is rocket fast and nigh untouchable in the Nissan leMans racecars, or it drives around like an oaf bad pit desicions and the like, of course my B spec driver habitually bins at sear point after the second up hill befor the right hander, Everylap in the WorldSports Car race(2.45 hour) he would lose traction and drive through the grass to make the turn.
reallly

Agree with almost everything that Bertmk2 and gttouring have said although I would like to have the option to turn off damage when I fancied a mad moment! They can get rid of single seaters too, as with rallying, there are more specific games out there for F1.

by old F1 cars i meant things like BRM, old Lotus's and the Maserati 350M - the kinda cars that real drivers threw about the scenery. I agree with loosing the rallies tho, i ain't enjoyed doing any of that this time around. More cars per race is the major thing for me, esp with the way GTR handles a big grid...
