Champ Car Philadelphia street circuit 2006?
Looks like there will be a Champ Car street race at Philadelphia on July 3rd 2006 racing on the downtown streets and parkland.
The layout will be some where around the Art Museum in Fairmount Park going through Benjamin Franklin Parkway and around the Liberty Bell at Logan Circle possibly reach Market street. Top right is where it is planned. http://www.aaccessmaps.com/show/map/philadelphia_w The challenge is to come up with a good and possible layout. |

Hey Mandretti, that's a really good layout, far better than what I could do.
Btw I sent you a pm. Luke. |

It has a very nice layout, although it is a bit to long.

Dudes, there's this cool park in Philadelphia, according to the maps at Google. That could make a pretty cool track. I'll look up a picture.

O yeah... it's Fairmount Park, just east of the city centre. Plenty of roads to use! See the map and the satellite image

Luke:
Go to www.terraserverusa.com Plug in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the search It will give you a list of aerial photos to choose from... I believe if you pick the one for the Museum of Art, It will put you in the park where you are wanting to create layouts.... From general maps of it, there should be some great possibilities in there.... |

Well, here's my take on it (track in blue, running clockwise, pit road in shocking fuschia). That park looks awesome - I had to stop myself creating an all-American Nürburgring!

Philadelphia is one of my hometowns along with Denver, so it will be cool to have a champcar race in both cities. Hopefully I'll be able to attend both.

Good effort, Jam! It's a US Nürburgring, indeed. Your main straight is over a km long!

Nice ones, both of ya!
Well, everything's been said bout that one now Jam Top marks! I'll post my slightly different version (using some of the same roads) tomorrow. Looks like there are a few too many "street circuit" tight corners on your park layout for my liking Lustig, but hey, there are also some nice sweeps, so I guess it balances out A good compromise, and a slightly more "realistic" version than Jam's But IMO your street version is excellento! If they use that I'll be more than happy |
