Winners And Losers - Texas

My Winners -

1 - Scheckter, for finally putting his talent and speed to good use to win a race! Is the monkey now off of his back? Can we now expect to see Tomas win again? I think so!

2 - Texas Motor Speedway, for bringing in a big crowd, and showing every other track, the IRL, the sponsors, and ESPN/ABC how to promote a damn IRL race! Well done!

3 - Team Fernandez, for being nowhere with no speed all weekend, and then somewhere mid-race, they find the set-up and the pit strategy to get both their drivers, Sharp and Matsurra, in the hunt, winding up with a 4th and 7th. What a turnaround!

My Losers -

1 - ABC, for not getting this race on the big network. A big crowd, and a fast action packed race, would have easily beaten reality show re-runs!. They should have found a way to get it done.

2 - Darren Manning, who has really fallen off and just seems extremely slow and gun shy these days. Is it him or the car? I hope its the car...

3 - Cheever, who had to be sick watching the Chevy he traded in, win the race, while his "backmarker" team got lapped, over... and over... and over again! Terrible!

Who were your winners and losers?

- the Texas fans who were treated to a good, safe race that only saw a few minor incidents

Losers
- Hemelgarn Racing.. not their year, this one
- Carpenter, being taken out by Briscoe

infoxicated has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Winners
Scheckter... at last.
Panther... at long last.
Chevy... not that it'll make a difference.
Hornish - for recognising that he didn't have the car to win and not taking any risks to do so.
TMS - for putting on a good show and confirming that it's one of the most exciting venues on the calendar.

Losers
Danica and the IRL hype machine - she needed to finish strong to keep the good PR going, but managed to let one of the underhyped rookies by her in the closing laps for a disappointing finish.
Kite, for wrecking chassis #77 of his career.
Manning... whose star is slowly fading this season.

Tomas-Way to Go! Hopefully the 16 absorbed all Panthers bad luck at Indy.
Wheldon-Because he actually finished the Night race at Texas, first time, even if it was only 6th.Plus wearing that awesome shirt "I actually "WON" the Indy 500" lol
The Fans-Who saw an awesome race put on by the Veteran drivers. It's kind weird calling 24-30 year olds veterans,Half of Nascar are older then everyone in the IRL lol.

It looked like a suspension malfunction..and not due to contact...at least when the incident started....

Ed was along for the ride, and the shower of sparks out that side of the car told the tale....

Right front....correct????

At leasat that is the way it looked on replays...
