Snett start line marshals 12th June...
Thanks for your help with the long push yesterday, mine was all in vain as the car has to cross the finish line under it's own power so was classified as a non finisher after all that!

I have just heard that the MGCC did give Mike a speical award for push of the day. For information: Mike having started on the last row of the grid moving throught the field until second and was chasing down the leader. When on the last lap he turned out of Russell the car dead, and coasted towards the line. Mike then got out of his car "Bridget the Midget" and pushed the car sinlge handedly across the line from about halfway along the pit wall. To go from last to second and back to 24th in a twenty minute race that gutting. Not bad for a 1375cc MG Midget. The win was in a 3500cc MGC V8, others overtaken in the race include MG B V8's & Roadster's, MG F's, Other MG Midget's and MG C's V8 and Roadsters and a MG 1300. Well done Mike see you at Oulton. |

As another driver, can I just add my thanks to all the marshals who turned out and stood in the rain and cold winds at the weekend. Much appreciated once again.

It was another superb MGCC day with some good racing and great to see so many MGCC marshals supporting the Snet regulars. Thanks to Peter H, Stewart and Darren for all your help on Coram and Fantasy Island together with that of all our regular crew - much appreciated.
Mike-you have our commiserations after that great drive through the field our hearts went out to you as we heard something let go as you passed us into Russell on that last lap. Also some several good plugs from the commentator during the day recommending people to try marshalling plus a detailed full page in the programme - together with some good racing and large grids - well done Mr. Watson! Perhaps some of the other clubs could do likewise to attempt to recruit additional new marshals. This coming weekend with BRSCC-EA also looks to have a entertaining mixture of races with practice and racing starting at 13.00hours on the Saturday (we can have a lie in for a change! -sign on at 11.45am) six practice sessions and four races for Caterhams, Sports 2000 Radical Enduro's and Biduro's, and Sunday (7.30am sign on as usual) having 11 races as above plus races for ARP F3, Mini 7's,Mini Miglia's and various classes of Alfa's. Should keep us all entertained! |
