It's called the 380.
Mitsubishi Australia confirmed today the Magna is dead. The new large car to be released in October will be called the Mitsubishi 380, after it's 3.8l V6.

With Magna, Camry, Commodore and Falcon replacements all in the not-too-distant future it's going to be a hectic period for Australia's large car market.

The first Magna in 1985 was a Japanese Galant widened ~65mm and also using the carry over 2.6 Astron II 4cyl (with balance shafts as used more widely these days), there was also a locally developed wagon (estate) body. The second generation car saw a V6 come into the picture, and the third generation gained all-wheel-drive some years ago. I'm not sure if the new car is widened/lengthened from the donor car as the earlier ones were however. |
