CAMS Media Release 10 Sep 2005 FRIDAY 9 SEPTEMBER Matters held over from Oran Park, Round 8:... In all matters investigated from round 8, Oran Park, no breach of the rules was found. Matters arising from Practice 1: Following an investigation by the IPO and an admission by the competitor, car #16, Garth Tander, was found to be in breach of rules, passing another car while red flags were displayed (Schedule D3; 3.1.3). The Stewards imposed a penalty of a fine of $5,000. Car #17, W Davison/S Johnson, Westpoint Racing, was found to be in breach of the rules, exceeding the pit lane speed limit. The Stewards imposed a penalty of a fine of $300. Other matters: Following an investigation by the IPO and an admission by the team, Tasman Motorsport Pty Ltd was found to be in breach of the rules, failure to fit correct final drive ratio to car #23 (C9.5.4 Schedule C1). The Stewards imposed a penalty of exclusion from Practice 1. Following an investigation by the IPO and an admission by the team, Brad Jones Racing Pty Ltd was found to be in breach of rules, failing to advise the Category Technical Director at least two weeks prior to scheduled completion date of a new car to arrange inspection (A8.8.4). The Stewards imposed a penalty of a reprimand. SATURDAY 10 SEPTEMBER Matters arising from Qualifying: Following an investigation by the IPO and an admission by the team, car #75, Toll Racing, was found to be in breach of rules, leaving the pit bay in a dangerous manner (D11.2.2). The Stewards imposed a penalty of a reprimand. In all other matters investigated from Qualifying, no breach of the rules was found. SUNDAY 11 SEPTEMBER Matters arising from the Warm Up: In all matters investigated from the Warm Up, no breach of the rules was found. Matter arising from the Race: The following cars/drivers received a drive-through penalty during the race: • Car #23 (D’Alberto/Coulthard), for a driving infringement on car #18; • Car #24 (S Richards/Dumbrell), for ignoring the blue flag; • Car #25 (S Owen/M White), for exceeding the pit lane speed limit; and • Car #9 (Ingall/Youlden), for a driving infringement on car #88. Following an investigation by the IPO and an admission by the competitor, car #1, Warren Luff, was found to be in breach of the rules, careless driving (B6.7.2), with regard to an incident involving car #5. The Stewards imposed a time penalty of 26 seconds to be added to car #1’s race time, equivalent to a drive through penalty. -- |
