A surprising project from Belgium...
.. as Porsche said the car wasn't intended to be raced:
The pressrelease quickly translated: The project is to build a Carrera GT racecar. The car is owned by Guido Dumarey, and the car will be developed by GPR (Belgian Porsche Team) in cooperation with Marc Duez. As nothing on the car is developed for racing specificly it'll take some time to develop the car, they are hoping to start testing next fall. They have to develop everything on their own, where they think Marc Duez' expertise will come in nicely. They hope to update the Carrera GT extensively trough testing etc, and when the wanted level of competition is reached it'll be raced as well. They are not sure where yet,FIAGT, LMES, Belcar and the museum are mentioned as possible targets. The technical partners are very motivated to start; a ambitious project driven by passion. A ambitious project for sure, curious how it will go but definitely a awesome project. Guido Dumarey is the guy behind Body Coach by the way, sponsor of Marc Goossens. |

Would it ever be competitive in a serie like FIA GT or LMES?
Interesting project though. Who is Guido Dumarey btw? Must be very rich. |

I realise it's only an artist's impression, but the wing in the rear view is different from the one in the front view.

This weekend will be a demo run with a Porsche Carrera GT at the Belcar Racing Festival in Francorchamps. Marc Duez drives the car. |

One of the possible targets is the museum? Well, good to see they're aims are lofty.
Seriously, I'd love to see a Carrera GT raced but this project seems quite late-starting. Belcar is the obvious place to race it, of course. |

Hmm, might even become a succes. Marc Duez drove the stock street Carrera GT over Spa today, doing 500km in total with a rumoured besttime of 2:25. That's fast for a streetcar if that's true, that's only a good 10 seconds above fast GT1 laptimes.
