Apr 2: Australian Grand Prix (Melbourne)
Apr 23: San Marino Grand Prix (Imola)
May 7: European Grand Prix (Nurburgring, Germany)
May 14: Spanish Grand Prix (Barcelona)
May 28: Monaco Grand Prix (Monte Carlo)
Jun 11: British Grand Prix (Silverstone)
Jun 25: Canadian Grand Prix (Montreal)
Jul 2: United States Grand Prix (Indianapolis)
Jul 16: French Grand Prix (Mangy-Cours)
Jul 30: German Grand Prix (Hockenheim)
Aug 6: Hungarian Grand Prix (Hungaroring)
Aug 27: Turkish Grand Prix (Istanbul)
Sep 10: Italian Grand Prix (Monza)
Sep 17: Belgian Grand Prix (Spa-Francorchamps)
Oct 1: Japanese Grand Prix (Suzuka)
Oct 8: Chinese Grand Prix (Shanghai)
Oct 22: Brazilian Grand Prix (Interlagos)

The full story can be found at http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/4378794.stm

The first thing that jumps out me is that British GP in June and there is a chance that it might clash with Le Mans (i'll be in France). Anywhere there is it folks discuss.....

Good calendar.

I like ending in Brazil - finishing the season with a race in prime time.

Are the BBC making a comment on the state of the French track or have they forgotten how to spell?

Incidentally - this calendar won't change - that's the final rubber-stamped version from the world council.

Fair enough, i suppose i shouldn't be surprised by June Brit date as we had one at Easter a few years ago!!!

But i did think that the team owners were fed up with too many races and wanted the season spread out a bit- this calender looks almost same as this year, which wasn't bad in itself..

I bet!

McLaren better be hoping JPM has a fast but consistent year then, too many shunts might make things just a little awkward for them!!

Ditto, Karthikeyan and whoever he ends up driving for!

Louis B. should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Humm... the Canadian GP on the St-Jean Baptiste holliday week end... It's better than the July date they were talking about but I still don't understand why they moved the U.K. GP to the Canadian GP's traditional slot (i.e. first or second week of June). Insofar as the Canadian GP is concerned, if it ain't broken why fix it? Is it that success at Silverstone is more important than success at the Montreal GP?

P.S. Has the FIA given any reason in support of those changes? I had to work away from Montreal the last few days such that I am a bit behind with the news.

Because Tony George announced the US GP would be on July 2, before getting an official date from the FIA.

Given the events of this year, it was felt best to keep him happy and work round it.

Well I don't agree. The British GP has a huge following and would be a better bet in July than Indianapolis.

its odd that the British and French GP's are split but the Canadian and US GP's. I thought it would have made sense for the British and French GP be together so the teams only have to hop over the channel.

Australia will also be well into Autumn too and given the usual suspects (Spa,Silverstone etc) it could well be the rainy season.

Great that the season ends in Brazil....that worked in 2004 beautifully.

Opening in Bahrain o the other hand.....my god, that is bad.
