We've done a POLL on which team will chase down Ferrari & the Macs the best, now the question is which driver outside of these teams will be the best of the rest. I think this is even tougher than the teams, and I'm sure opinions will differ greatly.
This is not for debate, I'd just like to know your opinions on who will top this list and why. Please keep in mind that the poll is limited to ten options, so if your driver is not on the list, feel free to fill in the "other" section with your comments. I'm casting my vote for Ralfie. Happy voting, WREX |

Me too... to put the williams up in 5th with such disadvantage in tyres as well as horsepower to the honda is impressive~

Wrex,
How come Ralfie is referred to as Ralfie and everyone else by their last name? Ralf is a pretender! Watch this space and all will be revealed in future installments. Williams are underpowered compared to the Hondas in the Jordan's and BAR's. Sure, and so are Ferrari as well no doubt. Please post the dyno results that show this. I feel so much better now. The therapy is working! |

Well, I chose Montoya, because I think he is a good driver and he has the level to be in the 4 spot(well fourth if DC manages to finish in the top 4), but I think the poll must've been done different, not a best of the rest driver, but a best of the rest car. For me no matter what driver is in, the car is the main thing, and betwwen the 2 honda powered teams and williams it's hard to pick a team, and far harder a driver.

Villeneuve, because of his late race attemps at the U.S. Grand Prix last year showed me he is pushing a moderate car harder than any other driver.

I voted JT. I mean, why not?? The guy's only young, and if for some reason Ralf's move to Ferrari falls through, he could well replace Rubinho.

I voted for...*drum roll*...Ralf!
*Steph watches as all 10 Tenths members keel over in shock* Seriously though, I think Williams can be 'best of the rest' in teams again, so it wouldn't be surprising to see a Williams driver as 'best of the rest'. And, judging by Ralf's form in 2000, it could well be Ralf. Last edited by Ralf's Girl; 12 Mar 2001 at 19:45. |

Well I put Ralf...but I think Ralf and Montoya in the immediate future, and Kimi and Heidfeld in a couple of years definetly!

Tristan, Ralf would have to be out of his mind to move to Ferrari!
My vote goes to JV, and I expect him to show us all why this year, if the chassis engineers get their act together. But the current crop of rookies is most impressive, and opinions can change, sometimes to the least objective longtime F1 fan. Hopefully, fresh young talents won't be buried under the mountains of dollars being spent by the big players. One thing can be said of CART, being more of a spec series, allows the driver to shine a little brighter sometimes. |

Alesi - because Jeannot is the last man on the piste who is there because he loves racing - even in a car that is one step removed from a diecast - and not because he loves money.
Alesi is a pilote. The rest of them are pretenders. |
