Mr Cool, as you posed the question only a few hours ago, how come you now know the answer to your own question? |

On another note though Mr Cool, it's quite interesting to see how you spelt this particular QLD driver's surname in the forum's title... "WAKfield" does sound awefully similar to his infamous driving style ...

I hope it is his own car so he realizes how much damaged cars cost to repair.

He should get back in that 808 in the club cars. I enjoyed watching him drift through every corner at Oran Park.

Machinery
Maybe if he was given the right equipment and an in-experienced team he would go better, i don't think we'll see the wagon like we used to..

So SBR don't have the right equipment? I don't understand why you would want him in an inexperienced team, I would of thought a drivers manager would want their driver in an experienced team? |

Ok first off Ambrose stuffed the engine at Bathurst 01, When a driver is offered a drive, natural instinct is to take the drive.. Plus on the grapevine he has just assigned a manager

So if his bad performances in a main game car have been due to the wrong equipment why does he not get asked back to any main game team for a second enduro by the same team? He got the drive in the Konica series more to the fact he is mates with Dawson. I am not saying he can not drive, he was great to watch in the wagon and also the Konica's at Lakeside the first year, but there only seems to be two ways with Wayne, either full on or not at all, which usually ends up with damage to the car. Thats the truth he is hard on cars.

After Ambrose i imagine it was a case of money, as you know..money talks in V8s, after that i believe he went to Paul Morris, he drove the Romano 24 didn't he, what a piece of junk that car was at Oran Park, it's all on the car and money

Does anyone else recall the big accident off the startline at Oran Park in Commodore Cup many years ago. It dragged on for along time after. Can not remember who it was.
On a positive though, gee that wagon went like a rocket, is it still around??? |

Still in Phil Laird's workshop somewhere I would have thought.
Qld Im-Prods have moved on a bit since then. Laird's RX7s regularly get a hard time from Toowoomba sourced equipment, but there are a few cunning Scooby-Doos coming onto the scene now as well. Competition in Qld Im-Prods is ruthless! To spend the money on the Wagon to get it to run at the front again would be impractical. |

I know it sounds harsh, but Wayne's 35 now. Teams are just looking in other directions.

Yeh he is 35 but he can still drive, the wagon can still win don't you worry, with Lairds mechanics and Wakefields driving, if they wanted they would

Your all hopeless no lifers, you don't know a driver with talent if he left you choking in his draft.
