Express Thumbnail works great rights the HTML and sizes the images all in one go, writes all the links, buttons and index pages at the press of a button

i use coppermine. it's a little bit less personalisable than i'd like, but it goes nicely with the other section of my site.
just a point though, don't put anything up there you wouldn't want anyone else to use. |

Photoshop will create web galleries for you very simply. Breezebrowser does the same thing.
I have started using simpleviewer which is a basic free flash program. You can download it free with directions here. http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/ you can look at the portfolio on my site to get an idea of how it works. http://www.motorsportsimaging.com/portfolio/index2.html You can have the thumbnails be thumbs of the images if you want, I went ahead and modified it for the numbers, but you can do whatever you want. |

I use Web Album Generator. It's free, simple, no frills.
My only gripe with it is that it seem to compress the images to much.. but that's easy to overcome. |

Since no one has mentioned it, I use Gallery - I find the remote uploading tool a godsend
