Maybe we could have the Australian Pocket Bike G.P. There seems to be plenty of the bloody things being ridden up and down the footpaths!!!

What is the point of this thread?

Lotus Trophy and Carrera Cup were just a part of the V8 support show, if they are not there, some other categories (maybe with some variety in them ) will fill the gaps to support the V8 meeting.

The line-up is the same in 2006 as 2005, and why would you wind up with nothing in 2007, out of the 4 main events you mention only the WRC isn't coming back.

Saloon Cars had a round of their National Series in WA this year, and if what you read about the new CAMS National Championship Series is true there will be several categories going to WA in 2007 and beyond. I would suggest that your information is wrong, and that you should have a little lay down and all will be OK tomorrow.
P.S. Where did you get your info from, the fairies?

The line up of categories for the Series includes the:
- Australian Formula 3 Championship;
- Australian GT Championship/Porsche Drivers Challenge;
- Australian Saloon Car Championship;
- Australian Production Car Championship;
- Commodore Cup Series;
- Australian Performance Car Championship;
- V8 Ute Series;
- Lotus Trophy Series;
- Australian Superkart Championship;
- Truck racing; and the
- Tranzam Sports Sedan Series.

The 2006 CAMS National Racing Championships Calendar is as follows:
4-5 March Wakefield Park
8-9 April Symmons Plains
6-7 May Oran Park
20-21 May Phillip Island
3-4 June Winton
24-25 June Mallala
8-9 July Eastern Creek
19-20 August Phillip Island
2-3 September QLD Raceway
28-29 October Oran Park
25-26 November Eastern Creek

It says the series will visit five states throughout the year. I can only see circuits from four different states.

Are race meetings scheduled that far in advance? You usually get calendars around mid year for the following year. I wouldnt panic just yet.

You say you hate living in WA ... well either get out of there, or get out and go fishing! Youve got great fishing there!

mabs - if you have doubts, why not do the sensible thing and contact the WA Sporting Car Club at Barbagallo - I'm sure they would be only too pleased to assist you.

One hint though - whatever you do - don't start trying to sell them alternate schedules, timetables etc for every series under the sun.

The replacement venue for the ARC/WRC hasn't been decided as yet - whether WA will reatin a round is still unclear (WA have, in past years, lumped the local ARC round with the WRC round - it makes the entry list look good by doing it that way otherwise they are left with around a dozen or so cars competing only).

the forrest rally is wa round of the ARC. it is usually the first round of the championship held in march. the only thing that rally australia counts for locally is manufactuer points.

the wa sporting car club has secured the v8's untill 2009 with various classes coming along with the show.

the reason carrera cup is'nt coming to perth is because they boring to watch and there isnt enough room in the paddock due to every man and his dog having transporters.

The ARC isn't part of the WRC - only the Manufact. Championship. The ARC is held generally as the first round of the ARC, that is why I was asking the question why there was a question mark over the ARC as it is news to me!!

Also, what do you mean by "it makes the entry list look good by doing it that way otherwise they are left with around a dozen or so cars competing only". Are you talking about the ARC round or WRC. ARC round has been having around 50 plus entries including WA entrants each year. WRC round has very little entries from Australia now with most the majority of the entries from overseas and certainly has much more than a dozen or so, so I don't know where you got the "dozen or so cars competing" from.!!!

Please explain................

I was referring to the WRC component of the event.

And apologies - completely forgot about the Forest Rally.

The Australian Superbike Championship is heading for Barbagallo again in 2006 and the Mallala round on the following weekend as per usual.

I put a question mark on the end of Australian SBK and ARC in 2006 because I wasn't sure if they were going to come back to WA in 2006. In 2007 V8 Supercars will almost definatly come back to WA because V8 Supercars is the one and only Motor Racing series in Australia that includes ALL of Australia.

V8Supercars Australia have made it very clear in the past that they only go to the circuits that suit them. They won't go to WA just so they can have a round in every state, they only go places if they are up to their standard, if not, they won't attend.
