Formula Renault UK 2006 Silly Season

Things have been a bit quiet on the FR UK front, so I thought I'd start a thread.

Here's the confirmations I know of so far:

Team AKA - Jeremy Metcalfe
Coles Racing - Dean Smith
Comtec Racing - Pippa Mann
Fortec Motorsport - Fabio Onidi
Jamun Racing - Duncan Tappy
Robertshaw Racing - Alex Williams

Other confirmed drivers, rumours, expected team line-up etc welcome...

Position 1 will also be back, they ran as First-Air last year and it looked as if they would be sitting this championship out, but they have decided to return.

I think Markus Niemelä is trying to get a FR2.0 ride. Manor most likely.

Richard only signed for Manor for the Winter Series. I would expect that he would be looking to link up with Position 1 again, with whom he won the Graduate cup in 2005.

Ah, you see he never actually told me it was only for the Winter, I just assumed he meant next season as well.

Dean Smith was run by Nexa is last years FBMW. Coles Racing is an entity set up around Dean Smith for his 2006 season. I think the original intention was to stay in Formula BMW but Smith taking the crown meant a move up the ladder was desirable.

Sam Bird with Fortec is the obvious outcome, but he was definately in a Manor car at Donington.
