This is crazy - over an hour since qualifying today and there's NOTHING anywhere on the internet with the results/times/etc.! How frustrating

I'm pretty frustrated too... checked the official site and loads of others, including italiaracing.net which is usually fast with results, and nothing... I really want to know the grid before watching the delayed coverage on TV tonight, but I don't want to see the race results first.
Come on, Renault! |

Christian Montanari on pole position!
From what is said on renault-sport Montanari is on pole, 2nd: Andy Soucek and 3rd Borja Garcia. Salignon was 3rd but his best time was cancelled because it was performed under yellow flag. Were also cancelled the best times from Pilet and Hanley. Other drivers were penalized for doing more laps than authorized and they will start from the back of the grid. These drivers are: James Rossiter, Steven Kane, Bruce Jouanny and Celso Miguez. For the moment the only positions known are: 1. Montanari 2. Soucek 3. Garcia 4. Toccacelo |

Bit of a panic when he ran wide on the last lap but that is a fine start, COME ON.

Gold star to the psychic person that predicted Rossiter would go off on the first lap - he did well to recover to 5th (although Autosport say he's under investigation after an incident between him and his team mate!).
Looking forward to tomorrow, I think the race &result will be quite different! |

Can someone please clarify the Rossiter Situation..?? Where did he start? I heard he was to start at the back of the grid for a penalty, but all the grid line ups seem to put him in 4th-even the TV coverage put him in 4th!!

the renaultsport press releases say there's a protest by eurointernational or whatever they're called, and that it doesn't affect the top 4, but...
autosport's report makes it sound like rossiter started from 4th. the renaultsport results would indicate that too. but their qualifying results are up the creek without a paddle. does it *really* matter anyway? it's only the finishing bit that does... and besides, what are the regs for qualifying? |

What a day...several red flags (Davide Valsecchi hitting the wall causing the 1st red flag after just 2 mins). Big shunt at the start involving IIRC 8 cars.
The weather was ok, no heavy rain. The Belgian public transport was bad again |

Strong opinions Flexible-Flyer - if it wasn't for the rain Rossiter would have finished behind Kerr despite starting 5 places in front. Rossiter DID start from 4th and span on 1st lap (when it was dry).
Hopefully tomorrow will be dry and we can have less of a lottery/chaotic result! Pastor Maldonado could be the one to watch having set the fastest lap on Sat, finishing 8th and starting 22nd! Also Sean McIntosh is likely to do a lot better having been taken out by Mr Shimoda. Gonna be interesting watching this season mature ... |

in an equally good car, rossiter will beat kerr easily.
i dont have anything against kerr. its just that he isnt half as good as the carrolls, hamiltons, rossiters and greens of this world. he is no longer gbs great hope. |

If my mind serves me correctly, wasn't the GBR shoot-out in the same car for both Rossiter and Kerr?...and something gives me the impression that Robbie didnt get the seat due to his fabulous personality, but because of his ability and speed!!
What do you rate so much about Rossiter anyway? He's never even won a major championship! |

Gee harsh luck for someone who i think can the battle to the front runners given the right material, you dont get to be British F3 Champ for no reason.
Plus he travelled quite well in A1, and well his personality also impressed me at EC when I met him. But bugga, better luck for next round Parente. |

and i rate drivers on their ability not how many championships they have lucked into. so does the big time and the fact is rossiter already has an f1 team grooming him. kerr doesnt. i dont think rossiter is the best of the young brits coming through but in the WSBR he is by far the best brit and being a patriotic british/irish person who has watched steven kane, robbie kerr and james rossiter for years im certain who i think is the best of that bunch. i just dont like seeing kerr get all the attention when in rossiter we have a younger and indeed better prospect. |

sympathy vote? ha...
Motor racing doesn't do 'sympathy' in any context. If you're good enough you're in, if not, you're out...simple.. John Surtees knows talent when he sees it, shown by the fact he has taken Robbie and Sean on to another season of racing, he could have dropped them both quite easily.. I wait to see how the Renault season unfolds, rossiter Vs Kerr will make for an interesting series.... |
