MSV Cadwell - Lack of Single Seaters
A little bit past the event - that never was - but why the lack of single seater entries for this 2 race meeting at £150.
We were all set to come down from Scotland to our favourite circuit when word came that not enough entries, so no race. Normal entry fees, as we all know, are around £300 for 2 races, so why the lack of interest? I don't hold any remit for MSV, but JP has done a lot to improve his circuits for competitors and is offering half price racing. He can't do much more surely? Continuing lack of interest will see no more cheap races. Any views? Mike Roper |

The big problem was that every significant club single seater category had a championship round over the Bank Holiday weekend, and indeed some on the same day.
Furthermore, there was cheap open single-seater race at Combe on the same day (£75). |

like Ian has said above. Most of the UK's club single seater Championships had races that weekend so the pool of cars was always going to be small.
F4 were at Thruxton, Monoposto were at Combe and all the main FF1600 Championships had races including the Golden Helmet in Ireland. It was always going to be tough when 95% of the pool of cars were racing else where. I think apart from myself and Alex Ames all the drivers in the Combe Single seater race were already at the circuit anyway. |

and they had an 1800cc limit so no 2 litre cars could participate anyway!
