Finland WRC

This weekend sees the WRC head off to Finland for the high speed blast through the forests. Loeb has been the man to beat all year but traditionally Finland is won by Scandanavian drivers - can Gronholm, Solberg or anyone stop Loeb this weekend?

Finland is one of those events that I really must go and see at some point - it's one of the true classics of the WRC.

Roundy Mooney should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
M Gronholm 1/1 M Stohl 66/1

S Loeb 11/10 K Katajamaki 66/1

P Solberg 8/1 J M Latvala 66/1

M Hirvonen 16/1 G Galli 66/1

D Sordo 20/1 F Duval 66/1

J Tuohino 50/1 C Atkinson 80/1

H Solberg 50/1 X Pons 100/1

D Carlsson 100/1

M Wilson 125/1

K Sohlberg 125/1

J Kopecky 125/1

Up to date betting Bert looks like they fancy Marcus to do it but only by a shade. Sordo might be worth a punt each way.

Back to gravel events

I know he's had a poor season so far, but would have a punt at solberg myself.

When he's in the mood and when it doesn't break, the combination of solberg, subaru and gravel always look very good.

Solberg can be awesomely fast but this year the Impreza just seems to be too fragile and when it is working Solberg is overdriving in his attempts to claw back points - it seems to be an all or nothing approach to it this year for Petter.

Gronholm should take this one I reckon, reliability permitting.

Just a shame Loeb and Citroen are so damn consistent, Gronholm hasn't got enough to show for his efforts this season.

Very true, Gronholm has been on fine form but doesn't really have a lot to show for it, he certainly seems to be 'best of the rest' behind Loeb.

Gronholm is going very well at the moment, confident. Leads by 49.7 sec after 15/21 stages. Next is very demanding Moksi-Leustu 40.96 km! Loeb says that he canĀ“t challenge him anymore... believe if you want!? Anything can happend.

Gronholm wins from Loeb and Hirvonen. A good rally for the finns and for fordWRC, hirvonen delighted with a podium on his home rally, and to further that a nice solid run for matt wilson as well in the StobartVKford. Again subaru dont live up to their potential, another dismal rally, with nothing but a handful of quick stage times from atkinson to show for it. loeb again shows hes more than competitive on any surface, keeping play with the finns on home soil, sordo shows that while he is quick on tarmac he still has alot of learning to do on the loose stuff, going off the road on leg2, although his efforts will more than likely provide a well deserved factory citroen drive for '07.

coverage appears to be on british eurosport and not on terestrial or free view as usual, well done RICHARDS no wonder alot of motorports folks arnt into WRC, the coverage is dreadful, its patchy and as well as that has moved from being at a nicew sunday tea time slot for the first few rallys to being on at about midnight on a sunday, what a shame, im sure its due to something trivial like celebrity love island or whatever
