That artists impression of the LMP1 Radical doesnt half look nice!
 Once again it strengthens my personal opinion that coupes look far better than the open top prototypes of the last few years! Reading that article it sounds like LMP2 will stay as they are currently?

Seems like all of the specialist builders are vying for the affections of major manufactuers for 2010!
Radical-Jaguar  P2 will retain current regs, maybe a little cost cutting, and competitive production engines . Last edited by JAG; 8 Sep 2006 at 18:19. |

wow that radical LMP1 is mighty sexy if it looks like that then i may just have to kiss the boss of radical lol
the works cars would probabl be powered by say the AER 3.6 V8 turbo engine maybe with rollcentre racing running a car with a judd GV5 5.5 V10 the new engine for next year of course i definetely cant wait to see this on the tracks the term sexy beast comes up to me |

makes some sense to start looking for backing now...makes the job in 2010 a little easier...but I am also sure many others are courting manufacturers too
It looks like a nice machine but like JAG I will be enjoying the P2 and not worrying about 2010 yet |

It looks like the Bentley!
thats because Peter Ellery designed both cars and essentially the radical looks like the Bentley with the roof loped off so course it will look like the Bentley once its put back on! |

Hmmm. Having spent the last few years being told that the Bentley was an Audi with a roof on it its going to take me a little time to get round the idea that the Radical looks like a Bentley without one...

Yeah it is a nice looking car! The low back engine cover looks great - I wonder if this will be able to be carried through to the final design. Will depend on the engine configuration I suppose.

Not even just European, Nissan or Mazda who have both had large sportscar programs in the past could step up for big engine supplies and chassis support?

Jag's already mentioned this on another thread, but I'll post the Tim Greaves quote from the DSC article here anyway:
“We (Radical) are seriously considering a P1 version of our car, and we’ve had the first design review. It’s definitely achievable by the Ricard test in March next year. We’re now considering the commercial considerations of the project. We’ve got customers who want to do it." There are times when commercial considerations should be put to one side. Just do it.............

There's a thought. I'd be interested to hear how the design of the chassis and bodywork would change if it were designed specifically for a rotary.
Have Mazda developed the rotary to be integrated fully stressed? How could the bodywork be changed to suit the lower height of the rotary? |

They already have! They have a the XH engine, based on their IRL powerplant, ready to run but with no-one to run it...yet.
