The Masterton car is still around, running in Gp A spec,

The Mulvihill car was converted to VL Walkinshaw specs, but was recently converted back to '86 specs & for sale,

The McLeod car was another converted to Walkinshaw spec, not sure what happened to it though...

IIRC the 05 '86 HDT car became the VL that Gary Scott wrote off at Lakeside in '87.

Was the Kavich car was repaired after its '88 Bathurst practice crash (I think), not sure where it went after that.

ALSO ADD, the fastest ever Gp A VK, the Grice/Baily Chickadee car. Grice 'borrowed' it fro a few races in '87 with Bob Jane sponsorship, then may have done a few local sports sedan meets. It's still owned by Graham Bailey & thankfully restored to it's former glory.

The ex-Graham Hooley VK (I think this was also a Les Small built car - circa 1986) is in Sports Sedan spec in Brisbane, but would be easily converted back to original.

That's right Falc, it didn't do many races in it's original spec.

Also other VK's - remember the Lester Smerdon GP C/GP A hybrid from '84?

Car resides in melbourne, Yes the Stone Bros did look after the car when Croz campained it, was restored back to Bob Jane colours in 1991-92 by my dad and then sold, i purchased it back in 1997 and sold it to it's current owner in 2002 car will hit historic racing soon.

Car was HDT built customer car, although was finished off by Denny Hulme's old F1 crew for Sandown 1985, Larry did build a few motors for it, as well as Les Small

It was orginally built by HDT for Ray Smith and made it's debut at the Oran Park enduro in 1985 if my memory serves me correctly.

The kavich car from 88 was a new car built from a VL shell, Lather became the Reda Awadawa (spelling) Blue haven pools car, the Kavich VK was the Roadways Group C car from 1984

The Mcleod car was sold to Matt Wacker (the Grunt in the Hunt) and is currently in Sydney, was sold a while ago but heard that it is possibly on the market again

What happened to the VK's that went to Europe for the WTCC.
I came across a group A car that was called a commodore but it seems to be an Opel that was raced in the French championship in 1986. Strangely its chassis no. is AVK......A. Does that mean it is an Australian chassis or doesnt it matter.

What about the Brian Callahan red VK? Is it the same car that was converted to VL (carby) specs?

Thats correct, the VK was converted to VL carby spec for 1990 Bathurst. This was the the car that Jason Bargwanna had his first Bathurst start in, along with Brian Callaghan Jnr and John Gerwald.

This car was later sold to Paul Neilson for sports sedan use, then sold again.

Not sure of its location, but would love to know!

I am sure I read on here somewhere that Mr Callaghan had the red VK in the shed somewhere, awaiting restoration?

Wasn't it the yellow VL Walkinshaw he still had, along with the old Group C Falcon.

I think it is the VK. The yellow VL ended its days at Bathurst, in the hands of Bill O'Brien, after connecting with Dick Johnson's EB Falcon. You may recall DJ was not amused.....

No, that car was sold by Bill O'Brien to Chris Smerdon. The Callaghan VL was the replacement. After it was trashed, the running gear was put into the Les Small built VL which caught fire in the hands of John Trimbole.

So what happened to that O'brien/Smerdon VL? I remember it being a Perkins built car that Larry himself co drove with Bill at it's debut race at Calder in '87- (Anyone remember the enduro where they combined the race circuit with the oval? Awesome!!)

It was certainly quick in the right hands....

At the end of 93 the mechanicals were transferred into Smerdon's new VP and it was sold to Scotty Taylor who raced it at Bathurst in 94 and at the Symmons Plains round in 95. It was sold to Gary Cannan who raced it in the Amscar series in 97.
