Im looking forward to seeing Toyota Atlantics this year, Motors TV ocassionally show some coverage of the races as do Sky Sports "World Motorsports" - It will be interesting to see how the new car performs, 300bhp and capable of 175mph according to the official press release. Sounds interesting, something similar to F3 level by the sounds of things.

Ah, Junior Strous. I remember that he raced at Mantorp (Sweden) in Formula Renault 2.0 about a year back.

Yeah, he's been around FR2.0 for about 3 years IIRC, did he not do FR2.0 UK Winter Series and win it one year?

Should this not be moved to the Champ Car thread?

Im not really up to date with Toyota Atlantic teams, how good exactly are Sierra Sierra? Are they better than Forsythe? Going by Forsythe's reputation I would imagine that they would take some beating if their Champcar form is anything to go by.

@Saleen S7R
Raphael Matos ended up fourth for Sierra Sierra in 06. 1 win, 4 podiums and 4 pole positions. Andreas Wirth was third for Forsythe. |

Thanks Bezzen. Sounds pretty much like its a sideways move going by what you have said. Fingers crossed, he probably starts as one of the favourites for this years Championship.

Is it just me or does James Hinchcliffe look like he's ready for something far more than just CC Atlantics? Seems like a step backwards after his year to date in A1GP. Those A1 cars look awfully tough to drive and he's doing a teriffic job as far as I can tell. Wouldn't he find an Atlantic car a little bit....oh, I dunno, slow?
If he can't, or doesn't want to keep racing in Europe, then I think he should be in a Champcar straight away. Last edited by Last2LiftOff; 20 Jan 2007 at 20:09. |

Why? He hasn't done much in Atlantics or A1.

Didn't follow him in Atlantics last year Russ but you're right, a 10th place finish isn't great. In A1 so far this year though, he's been stellar. His lap times every race are right up there and I'm one of those that thinks he's outperforming his teammate, no slouch with a rookie-6th place in WSR last year. Hinchcliffe came awfully close to winning what was, I think, his second race.
Doesn't matter, the real point I was trying to make there, was James going from a 500bhp V8 to what? 2.3 L with 300bhp or less, and in a car that is close enough weight-wise; I think he might find that underpowered or, slow even. I think he's gonna be bored. |

occupying oneself by trying to get pole and win every race should be a good enough distraction from the boredom
