Paul Forgie leaves SBR for Nascar??

New team structure for SBR

Stone Brothers Racing has moved to streamline its senior team structure in a bid to increase its chances for a fourth V8 Supercar Championship.

The departure of JELD-WEN Motorsport Falcon Car Manager Paul Forgie from the Gold Coast-based team has prompted the changes, which will be effective immediately.

Forgie will finish at SBR on Friday and will travel to the United States on Monday to investigate the possibility of working with Marcos Ambrose on his Busch Series program.

Caltex Racing Falcon Car Manager Barry Hay will step up as Crew Chief to oversee both SBR Falcons, the role extending to the track and the workshop.

Hay, who started at SBR in 2000, takes on the new role after three years leading the Caltex Racing crew on Russell Ingall’s car.

Engineers Wes McDougall and David Stuart will manage cars four and nine respectively.

Team Manager and co-owner Ross Stone says that Forgie heads to the US with the team’s full support.

“We wish Paul all the best in his new role in the US; it’s certainly a great opportunity for him,” said Stone.

“Paul was car manager on Ambrose’s car when we won two championships. We would like to thank him for his efforts over the years and we support him in this new endeavor.

“In many ways we still think of Marcos as being a part of SBR and we are pleased to continue that relationship with Paul now joining him in the US.”

Stone continued, “We have a great depth of experience at SBR and I have absolute confidence in Barry, Wes and David in their new roles.

“These changes will promote an even closer working relationship between the two cars, and Jimmy (Stone) and I believe that this will assist with the speed of new development and improvements.”

Forgie, an employee of SBR for six years, managed Ambrose’s Falcon from 2001 to 2005, achieving two V8 Supercar Championships in 2003 and 2004. He went on to manage James Courtney in the JELD-WEN Motorsport Falcon from 2006 until now.

Could Mr Forgie become Marcos' new crew chief?

The real reason for Paul Forgie leaving is the that James and Paul cant stand each other. James has said before that if Paul calls him 'Marcos' on the radio one more time then he 'is out of here'!!

Oh. James doesn't look like the kind of bloke who would be so easily upset.

Sounds like someone has some unresolved sexual frustrations.....

Very much doubt that Paul will have anything to do with Marcos's Busch series oval races, but more likely will have something to do with the Team Australia Nextel Cup entry on the flat tracks.

Plus don't forget that the COT chassis is a bit more like a Supercar, front spilter, proper rear wing, fixed locations for roll bars and so on the chassis, so he might be used for his two cents on how to extract the extra speed out of it and catch the Hendrick COT cars.
