Seeing as the road car comes with a 4l V8 that delivers 420bhp, yes, it has.
The GT2 engine is quoted at ~480 bhp.

There is also an interesting article on the engine as it would relate to being a series-derived LMP2 engine. Sodemo uses it as base for an LMP2 block, and here's a technical analysis of it.

Seems like that car could carry some oomph, with an engine that has some proper racing genes.

To me, the question is whether or not they will actually take it to Le Mans this time.

I don't think JJ is fit to race anymore. He either had back surgery or a back injury. I forgot where I read this, hopefully somebody can confirm.

DSC lists Andy Priaulx and Jorg Muller as possible candidates.

i think all the BMW talk in that thread should be moved to this one as the BMW has nothing to do with ALMS 2008.

With this news, I wonder even more what Tom Milner and PTG's future plans are with the Panoz. I'd hate to see the Panoz go but would love to see Boris Said and Hans Stuck back in a BMW with ALMS.

I though it was going to be the M6 after reading about it on EI the other day but the M3 should go alright in GT2 too

Wonder why they never pushed the M4 coupe further than the VLN? Suppose they knew the M3 V8 was coming..

From the hugely pumped up wheel arches, would it be safe to assume that BMW has gone for the wide tyre option just like the 997 GT3 RSR? Or is that impossible to say just yet?
