Molson back to IndyCar?
Molson is now the official beer of the Nascar Canada Series. Among other things, they will "activate a national promotion featuring VIP race weekend experiences".
The Nascar Canada Series races at the Indy Toronto and Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. Could that mean that they will also support the IndyCar and Road to Indy races at Canada? |

If they do, it will likely only be at an associate level of sponsorship for this year and next, I do believe the Toronto and Edmonton sponsorship deals run out after 2012. After perhaps they will, but a lot depends on the economy (which has been slightly stronger in Canada for the last couple years than the States).
The new generation of Molson family is starting to take charge too, and that generally leads to a revitalized lot of public participation, the Molson brothers recently bought back the controlling interest of the Montreal Canadiens NHL team for example, something the Molsons have had a long affiliation with. |

Would be nice to hear "Molson Indy Toronto" again.

Coors is the "Offical Beer of Nascar" and that the name of the company that owns both brewers, Molson/Coors.

If Roger Penske can persuade Shell and Pennzoil to return to IndyCar, who knows it might draw in other sponsors, including Molson.

They already signed a contract to a brewing company, and it's Brazilian: Petrópolis. Its beer brand Itaipava is title sponsor of the São Paulo Indy 300 and main sponsor of Hélio's car at that race.

Seems to be a local brewery, rather like Steelback that Sponsored the Toronto Race for a couple years. I think if Indycar was to get a major sponsorship deal from AB-InBev or SABMiller or MolsonCoors then it would take precedence.

I'm going to guess this will mean Molson is not likely to return to Indycar although Coors may participate through their US Distribution & Marketing Partnership with Miller.

Petrópolis has a revenue of US$ 1 billion vs 3 for Molson Coors, 20 for SABMiller and 35 for Anheuser-Busch InBev. If that's local to you, ...

MolsonCoors sales were 7.5 Billion, I couldn't find much data on Petropolis as it is a privately held company. However what I meant by local is that as far as I can tell from beer enthusiast websites like BeerAdvocate and Ratebeer, there is no distribution for Petropolis outside Brazil
