JPM fan club pre-race meeting.

Well since I´m a JPM diehard fan, and I'm also from colombia, I may name myself president of the JPM 10/10's fan club(If you don't agree we can vote for a new one). This is the first meeting, here all montoya followers may discuss how the Colombian will go in this weekend's race. Also all the people that are against Monty can clear up their opinions, so go ahead, post your views.

Although Nick will always be first in my eyes, I've been a JPM fan ever since his CART days, so will be delighted to join in any discussion concerning the great Columbian.

President of the Montoya fan club! That's the second most dangerous job in ten-tenths. President of the Schumacher fan club being the first! I'd have kept that quiet! I'll join though! (although if Montoya doesn't win I want Michael too!).

Be prepared for the abuse. Perhaps we should set up "abuse presidents" anybody want the job of Ferrari fan president or McLaren fan president?

On to the present subject. I first noticed him during his infamous Monaco F3000 drive and he became the reason to watch CART. It was always a joke when someone else won in CART!!!!

ljakse, If JPM gets the WDC, I'm sure he'll need a new team. FW History tell us so.
Well, I am the accountant..... so, I sign all the cheques.

Well, I think JPM will have a good season, but we all know what Shuni is up to, winning his fifth WDC, so if Juan finishes 2nd at the end of the year that will be very rewarding for us all. Though I still have the belief that he can win it all.

i cant honestly see Juan beating Micheal this year. I want to see him put up a great fight to make the season more intersting...but like you said 2nd would be very rewarding as it will put Halfie in his place.

Did anyone else see the great pictures from friday free practice today on Sky TV , when they went onboard with Juan and had his pits to car radio on as well and as juan was chatting away to the pits complaing about his set up ,as he had to correct some overstear at about 140 mph .. GREAT !

I just posted a topic about Toyota, in which I remarked that JPM is growing on me -- I think he seems pretty direct in his talk, which I like.

Anyway, just wanted to note that I was at Indianapolis last September, and enjoyed very much the huge show of Columbian support for JPM -- lots of bright flags and cheerful people. I felt very sad for them (even though I wasn't really cheering for him in that race) when his car died.

I've been reading some threads today in which JPM's threat to the WDC is discounted; apart from thinking it much too early to make such judgements, it seems to me he's got every chance of being a contender *this year*, assuming Williams can cure their car of its nervousness...

It's good to be a JPM fan

There are a couple of good things to feel good about.

• He finished the first race and he's in the points.
reliability will make a big diference (obviouse understatement)!
• This is the second time around on the GP tracks and we know that makes a BIG difference.
• As an racer he has matured and is adapting himself diligently into the F1 modus operandi constantly working with his engineers and mechanics.

What the hey!
It is just very exciting to be an F1 fan and for all of us that like Juan Pablo, we can all openly have a big Smile and enjoy the moment.

go JPM!!!

JPM is the man.. I'm in! It's been a long time since there's been a driver that just gets on and races.. He is a true racer. How many people would take on Schummi the way he does?.. He just doesn't care. He is the one. He is JPM.

P.S. I went to the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year, and I have to say, JPM put on a great show for the people.. He knows how to race, but he also knows what F1 means to a lot of people.. Anyone going this year? Apparently Williams Grand Prix Engineering are using the event to stage the official 25th Anniversary celebrations of the team.. I'm gonna be there!

I have to be very careful here because I don't want to put the mockers on JPM. However, some of you might remembrer that about two months ago I predicted that JPM will win the WDC and move on to Ferrari for next year. (Possibly as lead driver).
Need I say more?
