Speed Chaneel called the attendance "record" and Derek Daly said before the green flag that "people was queueing up on the road to get there, so much that there will be people arriving one hour after the start".
Liz, any info? |

Last year there was about 70 K at the race day, so maybe 80K this year?

That is the number i heard, about 100,000 total for the weekend. At this rate when will Champ Cars reach 1 million in attendance? Maybe we should have a competition!

If I remember rightly, they have to cap the ticket sales there because the road to the circuit is quite small... or something like that. Anyway, they could likely sell a lot more tickets there than they actually did...

Yeah, it is not the easiest circuit to get to. It is basically right on top of a mountain. If you still have a tape of the race, have a look at some of the helicopter shots. You can see its mountain location and the road up to it.

So far we are at about 350,000 for the season? At what race will fan number 1,000,000 show up? Place your bets!
