Hopefully Ten Kate and Foggy can continue to have a strong weekend. Foggy looked up against it in Qatar, and would surely be happy to get both bikes into Superpole then get a few good points. Consdiering their illnesses last time out Chris and Malcolm both did quite well, and I'd expect Chris' title challenge to begin in earnest here.

Goes without sayign that I expect Haga and Toseland to move up by Superpole. A few other guys like Lanzi and Nieto have work to do as well.

Superpole is delayed until 4.15 pm due to a red flag incident in the free practice.

Corser did the double.

Suzuki's are as dominent now as Ducati were in 2003, is this a good thing? Is it any better than when the Ducati's were dominating? I don't think so. The action for the minor placings was superb though.

And what a crazy end to the day with part 2 of race 2, what were half of them thinking?

Suzuki fans will be impressed. Its amazing how superior their equipment is at the moment. As the season progresses more development of the Honda's,Yamaha's, Kawsaki's and Ducs should see them closer to the mark.
I look foward to the return to form of Ben Bostrom.

Great racing and great day. Just so happy WSBK is back and with 30 bike grids.

The UK terrestrial TV coverage was awful, at 2am on Sunday night (almost 24 hours after the races) and almost skimming over the whole of race 1. Still, the racing tself was good, plenty of action, but a shame no one could really rival Suzuki. Rider of the weekend could go to either Vermeulen or Neunkirchner though consdiering how well they did - their duel at the end of race 1 was superb.

Not rider of the day was Toseland, now I am a big fan but he reall was not good enough at the weekend, I dont know what was the matter with the bike or him but he was just not at the races, I think to be honest he has little cance already of retaining the title as I cant see Corser throwing anything away like Laconi did last year

I guess the only good thing is that Honda, Ducati et al are actually %200 committed to winning in the long run so it will eventually change. We all know how Honda hates to loose.

I thought it was interesting that after Laconi's brilliant rodeo ride and crash in race 2, he was able to pick the bike up and ride away. Obviously the automatic cut out didn't work.
Chris Vermulan was penalised all his race points (17?) last year because his cutout did not work after the 2nd race at Monza. Regis rejoined the race and finished 7th.
I was very surprised that no penalty was imposed on Laconi.

Flammini are Italian!
Remember Silverstone a few years back? Edwards retired coz his motor cut out yet Bayliss binned it twice and carried on!
I dont even know if the cut out thing is still fitted to the bikes. I read somewhere that the factory Dukes are now fitted with a starter motor! Is his true considering the effort it takes to start them in the pits!!
