Denis Harris has retired
I am very sad to report that Denis Harris has retired from marshalling.
I have known Denis for 15 years and I'd just like to take this opportunity to say thank you to him (a) for what I've learned from him over the years and (b) what he's still striving to achieve for us all regardless of what club we belong to. Denis, I shall miss you. |

Denis guided me through my formative years as a pit marshal.
He was always ready to give people a chance to progress and take on more duties, he stood by his marshals through thick and thin, was out in all weathers and didn't lock himself away when the sun disappeared and most of all made the effort at the end of each day to personally thank each marshal who had worked with him and offer words of encouragement. His health was not the best and each year he kept saying it will be his last and the following year he would re-appear. I hope Carol and Denis enjoy their retirement because they are a great team. Many thanks Denis and Carol Mark Lanyon |

He ha, in actual fact from here, been saying that he will retire for many a year.
It's a shame to see him go, he was damn good at what he did. Here's hoping he has many a year ahead of him still. |

Dennis retired from marshalling on the 2nd October last year at the final round of the BTCC 2005. He has now taken up a roll as a club steward at some of this years rounds and will be out and about this coming weekend at Oulton Park rounds of the championship.

Saw Dennis at Thruxton on Saturday putting himself on the outside of a very large breakfast.
Good luck Dennis. |
